hey Patrick, you still have your own point of view and people do enjoy it. So, no more excuse :-) we want your blog.
You sure have few very good pictures. I think we should have a "The best picture" vote every month. We can have few different categroies, the most beautiful, the most romantic, the most funny, the most etc. number your pictures with code.
There is one beautiful picture taken at the lakeside that is against the sunset, what we see is the black profile of the tree and small structure in the lake. There is one person in front but it is also so dark that one cannot tell who that person is. The picture will be perfect if that person is not in the shot.
I also love the night picture of the structure in the lake. It looks red at night and if you have camera stand it will be perfect.
I shall not forget to thank you guys who took pictures to share with us. It takes effort and time. I enjoy it very much. Thanks.

Hey Patrick and Brian,
Do you know what viedo format is required for viedo streaming? Did you simply upload the file in the camera? Any file encoding required?

yes, clothes keep coming off and white meat, dark meat. :-)

hahah.. i think Brian was in the shot.. it was backlit but the scenery was so pretty that I decided to keep it. i also wanted to experiment with Brian's silhouette. in the process of captioning the pictures. hopefully it will be clearer what's in what after i'm done.

I think the monthly picture vote is a great idea. any way we can put a poll system on the blog?

the night shots were rather hard to take. i didn't have a tripod and the water was about ankle deep. the final shots didn't look particularly good. but surprisingly, i put them through picasa's auto contrast tool and i think they turned out pretty good. it really brought out the contrast between the red tori and the black night sky. i was really impressed.

my camera saves the videos in .mov quicktime format. brian's are in .avi, divx, mpeg4 (one of them) i think. i just load the videos into picasa and upload. it takes care of everything for me. the video ends up being smaller and lower quality but decent enough for streaming video i think. i'll give brian the originals when we leave.

it's .avi but I don't know how it's encoded. mpeg4 is my guess though... and picasa takes care of streaming everything. I had to upgrade to 7 gb storage in order to get the pictures uploaded this time.
